Zionsville Diamondbacks win 2007 President's Cup
The Zionsville Diamondbacks won the 2007 Little League President's Cup on Saturday June 9. The tournament had 55 teams with eight from Zionsville and the others from Brownsburg and Fall Creek.
The Diamondbacks won five games to win the championship. They beat the Tri-West Silver 16-1 after getting a first round bye. The team then faced the Southmont A's next and won 7-6 in seven innings. The Diamondbacks beat the Brownsburg Cubs 21-11, scoring 12 runs in the fifth inning.
Two Zionsville teams, the Zionsville Cardinals and the Zionsville Diamondbacks met each other in the semi-finals. The Diamondbacks won 14-3 in four innings and advanced to the final game.
Two Brownsburg teams, the Brownsburg Rockies and the Brownsburg Yankees met in the other semi-final and the Rockies won. In the championship game, the Zionsville Diamondbacks beat the Rockies 11-1 in four innings to capture the Championship.
