What We Do...
Some of the programs and activities your ZCHS PTO has accomplished in the last year include:
- Assisted with Open House and Freshman Orientation using PTO parent volunteers.
- Maintained the PTO website at www.zchspto.org with information available any time.
- Provided luncheons, a Holiday Cookie Box, and other treats throughout the year to express our appreciation to our devoted teachers and staff, all with PTO parent volunteers.
- Sponsored student appreciation events, such as homecoming treats, Halloween treats, Valentine treats, exam week treats (fall and spring semesters) and St. Patrick's Day treats with the help of PTO parent volunteers.
- Published a regular, informative newsletter with news from administration, faculty, and staff created by a dedicated staff of PTO volunteers.
- Donated a sum of money to be administered for specific educational needs, left to the Principal’s discretion. Those funds purchased a Dukane projector; paid for conference registrations for student trainers, robotics club competition, Junior Engineering Tech Society competition; paid for wall hooks to hang art/posters in the cafeteria; purchased 10 DVD/VCR players for teachers to check out for classroom use; helped purchase a geiger counter for the Science Department; purchased software/web access for the Music Theory classes; and purchased a cot for the Health Clinic.

- American Field Service (AFS) - an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
- Rose-Hulman Homework Hotline - free math and science tutoring from the students at Rose-Hulman
- Youth As Resources of Boone County
- Zionsville Education Foundation

After Prom Volunteers Needed!For the past two weeks we have advertised the volunteer opportunity to be our next Parent Party Chair for After Prom. After Prom has been a ZCHS tradition for many years and I do not think it is an overstatement to say that it has probably saved lives. You can learn more about what our students may plan to do on prom night in the absence of a fun and safe alternative at, http://promdress.net/afterprom/afterprom.pl?sort_d=dropdownbox. This is a very manageable volunteer opportunity if we get started soon.
