In the fall of 2000, the ZCHS band enrollment was 24 and there was no orchestra, only a private lesson program for
string instruments. The coming years promise to have more than 300 high school instrumental students, and there is no
sign of a plateau, yet more budget cuts in the program. As the band and orchestra programs have grown, a full symphony orchestra has developed and has
earned consistent Gold ratings at contests along with the bands and string orchestras. The ZCHS music department as a whole is
proud to have over 500 students involved, and is continuing to grow in size and in quality. Over the last ten years, the
ZBOP Gala has brought in a variety of professional instrumental music groups and and has musically enriched our students lives. The Zionsville Community is looking forward to this Unplugged - Acoustic concert coming to the Zionsville Performing Arts Center November 5th for the ZBOP Gala.
