Nancy Turner Appointed New Executive Director Community Foundation of Boone County

The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) has appointed Nancy Turner to be the CFBC's new Executive Director. Turner has extensive experience in not-for-profit management, public relations and fundraising.

Turner began her career in 1985 as the Director of Community Affairs for KETV, the ABC affiliate in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving to Indiana in 1993, she became the Director of Development for the Central Indiana Region of the Girl Scouts of America. Turner then became President & CEO of Jefferson Consulting, a human resource consulting firm. In 2003, she became the President and CEO of the American Lung Association of Indiana; and she served in that capacity until earlier this year when the ALA announced that it would be consolidating its operations in several mid-western states.

"We are very excited to have an Executive Director with the skills and experience that Nancy posseses," commented Tom Easterday, President of the CFBC. "Nancy will do an outstanding job in leading our effort to connect people who care with causes that matter within Boone County."

About the Community Foundation of Boone County

Founded in 1992, the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) consists of a community endowment and a variety of other funds established by individuals, families, businesses and organizations for charitable purposes.

Grants from these funds are primarily awarded to not-for-profit organizations and programs working to meet the needs and address the challenges facing the residents of Boone County. The CFBC advises donors on charitable causes and provides effective management of the funds. The CFBC also helps donors to establish scholarships that are awarded to students throughout Boone County every year.
