- Introduction to the Defensive Pistol - the Boone County Sheriff Department will again offer a 16 hour course to qualified applicants. It will be held at the Boone County Sheriff Firearms Range in Lebanon, IN. This course is designed for the novice to the experienced male or female firearms owner. Requirements include either a valid Indiana Firearms Permit or Criminal History Report verifying the student as a "Proper Person," eye and hearing protection, a suitable pistol, approximately 400 rounds of ammunition, and tuition of $150.

- Step Into Spring! - Those shoes were made for walking! Join the YMCA and Faith for a weeklong extreme spring break camp. Camp developed for ages 6 - 11. Campers will travel the town as they explore the benefits of exercise and discover the world of physical sciences! Camp hours are 9am - 2pm. Program drop off and pick up will be at Faith (1915 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon). During the week, campers will walk to various locations in the community. Scholarships are available. - "Love Thy Neighbor" presented by the Clinton County Civic Theatre in Frankfort. Leona Crump is the "Queen" of her neighborhood until the arrival of her new neighbors. Unable to get the support of her friends or couch potato husband, she vows to single-handedly remove all plastic flamingos from her beloved cul -de-sac. Will she be victorious? It all depends on her weed-eater. The show will be presented at the Frankfort Library (208 W. Clinton St.). Tickets are $8 and can be reserved by calling (765)654-6307 or email us at ccct@netzero.net. Showtimes are Thurs.-Sat. at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.

- Gardenfest 2006 from 9 am - 3 pm at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds Community Building in Lebanon (I-65 at Exit 138). Seminars with valuable tips and strategies for your garden, vendors, free admission, raffles and door prizes!
- Zionsville Vendor Blender Spring Bazaar from 10am-4pm at the Zionsville Boys and Girls Club (1575 Mulberry St, Zionsville). A silent auction will be benefit Life2Orphans, a collaborative, secular, non-profit established primarily to directly help over 5,850 orphans, aged 0 to 18 years, in orphanages in Ukraine, as well as ship boxes cost-effectively to other orphanages in Ukraine. The Spring Bazaar features up to 50 vendors/demonstrators/crafters/artists with door prizes, demonstrations and live entertainment. For information contact

- Jimmy Durante Childrens Fundraiser to benefit the Boone County Special Olympics sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2062 in Lebanon. Dinner is 6pm to 8pm (hog roast with sides and a salad bar) and band plays from 8pm to midnight. In addition there will be an auction with items donated from local merchants, a raffle drawing and a 50/50 drawing. Meals are $8 for adults and $3 for kids. (Kids will have a choice of the hog or hot dog with fries.)
Raffle and 50/50 drawing will be $1 for 1 ticket or $5 for 6 tickets.
No cost to come out and listen to band and participate in auction. All proceeds go directly to Boone County Special Olympics.

The forum includes candidates for Boone County Sheriff, Clerk, Assessor and Commissioner, and will be moderated by WRTV’s Ray Cortopassi and broadcast live on TV channel 19 on Insight Cable in Lebanon and on RADIO MOM 91.1 FM. - Sugar Creek Art Center's Grand Opening Celebration from 11 am - 2 pm at 127 S. Pearl Street in Thorntown. The day's festivities include a ribbon cutting, meeting the artists at work in their studios, live music and the introduction of the Art Center's first annual poster. - Boone County Health Department Open House from 4-6pm at 116 W. Washington Street in Lebanon (north side of Courthouse Square). At 4:15pm the presentation begins: What is public health? What does your local Health Department offer? How can you prepare for the bird flu? How can you become a volunteer? At 5:00pm you can tour the Health Department, and meet the staff, enjoy refreshments, and a chance to win door prizes, including a family home emergency kit. - 52nd Annual Kiwanis Pancake Supper from 4:30 - 8 pm at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds in Lebanon. All you can eat pancakes and sausage! Tickets are $6 per person. $1 from each ticket benefits the Lebanon Skate Park. All other proceeds benefit youth programs supported by the Lebanon Kiwanis Club. - Zionsville Middle School PTO Z'Run 5K Run and 1 Mile Fitness Walk at 9 am at Zionsville Middle School. The run takes place on the scenic Zionsville trail and the fitness walk takes place on the ZMS track. To be pre-registered your completed registration form and payment must be received before April 21st. Registration is $15 (or $40 for family plan with 2 shirts) and includes a t-shirt (shirts guaranteed for preregistration only). Awards ceremony takes place at 10 am. Awards for the run will be presented in the ZMS Eagle Hall following the race. 1 mile walk participants are eligible for door prizes.
