Step Ahead Council of Boone County - the target population is Families in Boone County who might be at risk for involvement with the OFC for any reason. Emphasis is on prevention, with special care taken to concentrate on the family unit retaining its ability to advocate for its own members, prevent incidence of child abuse and neglect, delinquency, and to strengthen family relationships and foster community awareness. Goals include assisting families so as to prevent the placement of children in institutional care, avoid involvement with the court system, and assist in the development of long term, permanent solutions for families and children.
