Ghostly Writings Winners

Following are the winners in the Lebanon Public Library's Ghostly Writings Spooky Story Writing Contest. Winners will be called and should come to the Library to pick up their prizes and stories.

Everyone else who entered a story will have their story returned to their school with a certificate for a free book to be picked up at the Library. Children who do not attend a Lebanon school may pick up their stories and free book in the Children's Department.

Kids were asked to enter photos of themselves having fun this summer. The public voted on their favorite photograph displayed throughout the month of October in the children's department.


Lebanon Public Library Children's Department News December 2008

After School Christmas Movies

Tuesday afternoons beginning December 2nd through December 16th the library will host an after school Christmas movie at 4:00 pm. Bring your sleeping bag or pillow and enjoy a quiet afternoon with a special movie at the library! Free popcorn, candy and bottled water will be provided! Movie titles will be posted at a later time in the library.

Santa and Mrs. Claus

A visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Lebanon Public Library!

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children at the Lebanon Public Library on Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 am to Noon. Santa's helpers will be giving out free children's books and candy canes. A craft table will be set up for Children who wish to make a Christmas card. The library will also be collecting food items to be donated to the Caring Center.

Bedtime Stories in the Park -- Thursday December 18 @ 7:00 pm

The library is partnering with the local parks department to offer bedtimes activities at the Herr Cabin. Children are invited to come in their pajamas & fuzzy slippers to enjoy bedtime stories, crafts and snacks with library and parks department staff members. Participants are asked to please register at the library for this free program so that adequate supplies may be provided. This program will last approximately 45 minutes.

Story Times

Day time story times are held each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10:30 am, for all preschool aged children. Pick up a complete calendar in the children's department. We will hold our story time Christmas Party on December 11th.

Pajama Rama

Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm, come in your jammies and fuzzy slippers to enjoy bedtime stories and free cookies and milk before bed!

Please pick up a complete calendar for specific dates. A Pajama Rama Christmas party will be held on December 11th.

The library has Crafts and Board Games available EVERYDAY!

Winter Reading is coming soon!

Winter Reading will kick off on Tuesday January 13th. This winter's program begins January 13 and runs through March 21st. So come into the library and warm up with a good book! Children and their parents may sign up for Winter Reading at the Children's Department desk.

Participants are given a reading log and when they have read at least one book may bring their reading log into the library once per week to be stamped and receive a prize.
