The 7th Annual United We Read Community Read Program begins September 2, 2008 and runs until January 31, 2009! The Adult selection for this year is: Bean Blossom Dreams, 2nd Ed. by Sallyann Murphey.
In 1991, Sallyann Murphey and her family left the "fast life" of Chicago for a simpler life on a farm in Brown County, Indiana. Her book tells the tale of "city folk" adjusting and thriving in their new enviroment. Please note this is a second, updated edition which extends the chronicle.
To participate in the Community Read, check out the book and read it. When you return the book, have your name registered on the program log at the Adult Circulation Desk. All participants who read the book are entered in the prize drawing.
There will be special events throughout the program. For each event you attend, your name will be added to the prize drawing. Enjoy a terrific book and show your community spirit by participating in "United We Read"!
